Bulletin Our Weekly Bulletin contains pertinent information about the worship service and relevant individual assignments. It also contains our prayer concerns list, weekly meetings, mission outreach goals, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, financial stewardship, coming events, timely announcements, and contact information. Additionally, the online version is in beautiful color. If convenient, download it to your mobile device and save us the paper.
Health Kits The team will be collecting items for health kits. We will be handing out the kits on our trip. We are doing some baby kits this year. PLEASE, only get items on the list. A box will be in the narthex to drop off items. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, boxes of band aids, antibiotic ointment, cortizone itch cream, bars of soap, gallon zip lock bags, cloth diapers, diaper pins, diaper rash cream, a small teething toy (like little sets of keys or a little gel type to chew on) a small travel size wipes( usually has 32 wipes in- dollar store has them for a dollar) infant tylenol (small bottle).
Church App Bunkertown has a Church App for smart phones (not tablets). Download through the Google Play Store for Android devices or Apple iTunes for iPhones. Keep your church family with you on your mobile device. Utilize spiritual resources during Bible Study. Review musical symbols during choir practice. Send prayer requests directly to the pastor. Make financial contributions at any time.

Chart CONGREGATIONAL BUSINESS MEETING. All church members are encouraged to attend and support the future ministry and structure of the church. Voting will be on proposed changes to our Bunkertown Constitution & Bylaws. This is a very serious matter. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we contemplate our future.
Praying Hands 24 HOUR PRAYER VIGIL will begin in the church sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, and continue until 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 22. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex, in half hour increments. You are encouraged to pray in the sanctuary, or feel free to pray while walking throughout the building. Conference 2ND ANNUAL “YOU ARE ENOUGH” ALL WOMEN'S CONFERENCE "Conquering Fear Through Christ" to be held at the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, 52 Bunkertown Rd., McAlisterville on Saturday, September 28th, from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Keynote speaker: Tabitha Deller, author of the book, "Called." Breakout Sessions with Dr. Deedre Mitchell, Dr. Mandy Maneval, Jana Snyder, Rebecca Clegg. Conference will also include: Great music, Awesome preaching, Lunch & Prayer. Cost of conference- $15.00. Breakfast MEN'S BREAKFAST will be held in the fellowship hall, starting at 7:00 A.M. We always meet the first Saturday morning of each month. Gentlemen, challenge yourself to become more devoted to serving the Lord and learning about His glorious plan of salvation. Join us for a great breakfast followed by an inspirational message.
Crop Walk Icon CROP WALK is an opportunity to alleviate hunger through the simple act of walking. Let's Help End Hunger One Step At-a-Time by Walking or Sponsoring someone in the 47th Annual Juniata County CROP WALK 5k event (7 laps around the park) on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Walker Township Park, 258 Walker Township Park Lane. Heart HEARTBEAT COMMUNITY SERVICES will hold their Annual Banquet at the
First Baptist Church, 23964 Route 35 North, Mifflintown, PA 17059 at 6:00 P.M. with
hors d'oeuvres beginning at 5:30 p.m. Cost: $20.00 per person. Reservations are required and due by October 16th. Photo

The Keynote Speaker at this year’s banquet will be Denise Allison, an advocate for women healing from past abortions, physical, sexual, emotional, and spiritual abuse. Denise received a degree in early childhood education from Lock Haven University and is a current resident of Perry County. Denise is also part of, which is a ministry designed to support pregnant women between the ages of 15 and 29 that have chosen to carry their child and may not have a support system and/or supportive partner through their pregnancy.

Remembrance Day REMEMBRANCE DAY During the service, we would like to take a mo-ment to remember those who have passed away this past year and to re-member those they left behind. If you lost a family member or friend this past year (October 2018-2019) we would like to remember them and your relationship with them. To help us out, please provide a couple of pictures of them to Jen Hummel. Pictures can be emailed to her at or they can be given to her at church no later than Sunday, October 13th. Please have your name with the pictures, so they can be returned to you. Also please take a minute to fill out the Remembrance Day form (located at the Welcome Table) to help with the presentation and give to Jen Hummel by October 13th.
Music Symbol GOLD CITY ~ Join us for a music concert on Saturday, November 9th, at 7:00 P.M. Now into their 34th year, Gold City is talented and dedicated to sharing the Good News of the Gospel through songs with encouraging and challenging lyrics.

Music Symbol Jeremy Goodling JEREMY GOODLING ~ Join us for a music concert on Sunday evening, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. Jeremy has been singing for the Lord for over 28 years. He started singing bass for a few years with a small group from a little country church where he was raised. Having been married now for sixteen years, his wife Tabitha and four daughters have graced his life and also adjusted the ministry schedule to about three or four weekends per month. The future is blessing him with exciting opportunities.

Web Development Check out the latest updates to our website. Changes might be minor or something of greater importance; something trivial or something great. Look here first to discover what we've recently done. Latest updates are usually at the top of the list.
  • THE KITCHEN SINK has been included to satisfy the musings of those who have said this website has everything but the kitchen sink.
  • WEATHER at McAlisterville has been added at the bottom of the Announcements section. If you do not already have a bookmark to this information then click there to avail yourself of all the many resource such as temperatures, radar maps, storm warnings andforcasts by the hour, day, or 5 days.
  • CHURCH APP was given a home of its own to better explain the content and satisfy expectations. There is also a list of other apps to better accompany your experience. Thus far we have seen over 240 downloads and very positive comments.
  • HOME INDEX now has a third tier of icon links to special resources and our more heavily visited areas of the website. Additional links have also been inserted into the other tiers.
  • DIRECTIONS has been given a more expansive MAP with more local businesses and in much greater detail. A new enhanced OUTSIDE PHOTO replaced the former one.
  • MUSIC has been added to the INFORMATION menu tab. Here you will discover all things related to the musical program of the church. Listen to each of our recorded cantatas. Acquire, schedules, documents, music symbols, and how to configure your system to play MP3 audio.
  • Want to test your knowledge and understanding about the Brethren? Well, Church of the Brethren Network is offering a BRETHREN HERITAGE QUIZ. You gain so many points for a correct answer and some points deducted for a wrong answer. Go ahead! Have some fun quizzing yourself about the Brethen.
  • Image backgrounds for our web site are changed periodically. Each are selected with great care so that the graphic message corresponds to the beliefs and standards of our church. Normally they are hidden behind the blocks of text. To appreciate the full image, please just scroll to the very bottom of any page, and the many blocks of text will rise above the top.
  • MORE BIBLE APPS have been added to give you a greater selection of Bibles to reference during Sunday School, Bible Study, Worship, or at home research.
  • CHRISTIAN EDUCATION is a new web page to augment the educational interests and trainings of our congregation. Here you will find Brethren documents, Historical documents, Suggested reading, Topical Bible Verses, and new Membership information.
  • TOP MENU was restructured to accomodate a growing number of materials and new web pages. INFORMATION is a new entry which now comprises other former top menu pads such as Activities and History.
  • eBROCHURE is a sophisticated page flipping ebook provided for "First Visitors" to Bunkertown when a special friend is not available to prepare them for that first experience. Open it and learn how it can be helpful to someone that you would like to invite. Pages can be changed by dragging from the corners or by clicking the left and right arrows.
  • SPECIAL DOCUMENTS is a new section of our News area. Here you will find pertinent information, monthly calendars, and online fillable forms which can then be saved to your local computer or mobile device. Unfortunately, the Firefox browser started using their own PDF viewer, so filling and saving forms may not work unless you reconfigure to their plugin.
  • PRESCHOOL is a new section that has been added to enable parents to learn more about the Preschool ministry and how their child may benefit from the program. Information includes ministry introduction, registration form, photos, and hours of operation.
  • STITCHARITY (Stitching for Charity) is a new web page that celebrates the few individuals skilled in numerous disciplines of needlecraft involving yarn and thread, such as cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, and quilting, who regularly donate their time and materials to produce amazing creations for the benefit of various charities.

Awana Club
Awana Youth meet every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. Awana is an international evangelical Christian nonprofit organization founded in 1950. Their mission is to assist youth and equip leaders to change the world for Jesus Christ. A.W.A.N.A. is an acronym derived from "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" which is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.
Bible Study
Bible Study Join us every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. for Bible Study in the Conference Room. We regularly offer inspiring studies that challenge and offer guidance. Discussions are uplifting and promote awareness to believers at different levels of spiritual growth. Please commit yourself to join us each week for this important part of Christian growth and living.
Children's Bell Choir
Hand Bell Children are invited to participate in the Bell Choir. When in session, practice is usually held in the Conference Room between morning Worship and Sunday School. Please ask the Church Office for information about schedules.
Choir Practice
Choir Do you like to sing, or generally enjoy music. This is an opportunity to let your joyfulness be heard. A seasonal cantata is often performed. Check the bulletin for times of practice. Contact Torie Susan or the Church Office if you are interested in joining or have questions.
Crop Walk
Crop Walk Icon Usually, held the first Sunday in October, Crop Walk is an opportunity to alleviate hunger through the simple act of walking. Join with other participants on the walking track at Walker Township Park, located on the north side of Route 75, just west of the Route 322 Port Royal Exit. Check our bulletin for time of Registration and when the walk begins. It's also an opportunity to improve your health while benefiting many others.
Donate Blood
Give Blood Contact the American Red Cross or check the list of places on the Bulletin Board. Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate. There is no substitute for your donation. When you make a blood donation, you join a very select group of people. Currently only 3 out of every 100 people in America donate blood.
Fitness Class
Fitness Take this opportunity to get in shape, both physically and spiritually. They meet each Monday night for about an hour, followed by devotions. Please For question or details, see Mandy Brown, or the Church Office.
Food Pantry Challenge
Groceries The Juniata County Food Pantry is counting on you to donate non-perishable food items, house-hold goods, bathroom supplies, or personal hygiene items. Please check Sunday worship bulletins or monthly Newsletters to learn what is needed for the current month. Place items in the narthex Collection Bin.
Mission Offerings
Offering Learn about the several Mission Offerings that we receive to support various ministries both local and international. Each month we emphasize a different outreach ministry.
Offering Envelopes
Offering Envelopes Think about using a Church Offering envelope if you want a year-end report of your giving. It's also a nice way to keep your contribution a private matter. If you do not already use envelopes and would like to start, please inform the Church Secretary.

Small Groups
Small Groups The Men's Small Group will meet the first and third Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m.; the Women's Small Group will meet the second and fourth Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m.; the Couples Group #1 will meet the first and third Sundays at 6:00 p.m.; and the Couples Group #2 will meet the second and fourth Sundays at 6:00 p.m. Any questions? Ask your small group leader.
Volley Ball
Volley Ball Everyone needs spiritual growth and physical exercise to maintain a good life. Over the Winter season, we offer both through the excitement of Volleyball and a quick biblical discussion. Please ask the Church Office about dates and times.
Volunteers Needed
Helping Hands Helping hands are always needed to set up tables and chairs, act as the Overseer of events, assist with Vacation Bible School, participate in a drama, decorate a parade float, sing in the adult choir, deliver Harvest Home goods to needy families, remove snow from sidewalks, plant flowers, or trim bushes. Most often, specific talents or skills are not as important as your willingness.
Weis Card
Weis Card Every time you use your Weis pre-paid shopping card, the participating store will donate 5% of the sale to the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren. If Weis is your grocery store of choice, then why not benefit yourself and our church.
