The Bunkertown Brethren Church regularly contributes to the support of missionaries, evangelists, denominational programs, and numerous service projects. On designated Sundays of the calendar year, pledged offerings with monetary goals calculated by our average church attendance are lifted for each of the following outreach programs.

Brethren Disaster

BRETHREN DISASTER MINISTRIES - Our denomination headquarters identifies needs worldwide due to natural dusters, and coordinates volunteer participation. A few of our members are committed to disaster response, and frequently travel to different parts of our country to assist in the rebuilding of areas that have been severely damaged.

Brethren Meet Canning

MEAT CANNING - Our denomination headquarters identifies needs worldwide due to natural dusters, and coordinates volunteer participation. A few of our members are committed to disaster response, and frequently travel to different parts of our country to assist in the rebuilding of areas that have been severely damaged.

Juniper Missions

JUNIPER COMMUNITY MISSIONS was founded by George and Lori Losch. After serving together in Haiti for many years, God laid it on their hearts to begin this non-profit ministry to enable churches and individuals to serve in ministry projects in Haiti.

Shepherds Fold

SHEPHERDS FOLD is a biblically based counseling ministry in Richfield. Their mission is to provide Christian guidance to clients needing help with marriages, depression, parenting, anxiety, and emotional issues. They believe that God offers us spiritual direction for more victorious living through the Bible.

Church World Service

CHURCH WORLD SERVICE was founded in 1946 by several Christian denominations with a mission to: Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the aged, shelter the homeless. There are two CWS programs that Bunkertown supports. Learn more about the Blanket Program and CROP Walk.

Juniata County Meals on Wheels

MEALS ON WHEELS JUNIATA COUNTY Meals on Wheels operates in virtually every community in America through a network of more than 5,000 independently-run local programs. While the diversity of each program's services and operations may vary based on the needs and resources of their communities, they are all committed to supporting their senior neighbors to live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes.

Del & Mary Benner

DELBERT & MARY ANN BENNER, former residents of our community, are “side-walk” preaching on the streets of New York City through Open Air Evangelism, an extended ministry of Word Of Life Fellowship. Del returns to our area quite often to share imaginative Gospel Presentations and make balloon creations for children at local events.

Juniata Mennonite School

JUNIATA MENNONITE SCHOOL was founded in 1954 by Mennonite families desiring a Christian education for their youth. It was first known as the Delaware Mennonite School since they were using the one room school building vacated by the Delaware Mennonite Church. During the 1980s a wider patronage became involved with a new organization, and moved the school to its present location in 1988. Curriculum provides Kindergarten through High School.

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ministries

CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA YOUTH MINISTRIES is administered by David Hummel, a fellow Bunkertown church member, who endeavors to reach the youth of our local school districts. He serves full-time as executive director for CPYM which depends on regular, pledged giving from groups, churches, and individuals.

Heifer Project

HEIFER PROJECT INTERNATIONAL is currently an independent agency that was started by the Church of the Brethren in 1942. The impetus came from Dan West, a life-long Brethren who seen children in Europe during World War I who were drinking milk as fast as could be delivered. He thought it more productive to bring young heifers to them, with the promise that the first-born would be given to another family.

Child Evangelism Fellowship

CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization that is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to further disciple and established them in a nearby Christian church.

Camp Eder

CAMP EDER was founded in 1958 by Rev. A. W. Geigley and donated to the Southern Pennsylvania District Church of the Brethren, to offer a place where persons can learn to know Jesus Christ through Bible based ministry in an outdoor environment. They believe there is no greater gift one can give a child than to set his feet on a path that leads to God.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS - Bunkertown also supports Beef Canning Project for World Hunger, Heifer Project International, Pennsylvanians Concerned About Alcohol Problems, and Gideons International.

Bethesda Mission

BLANKETS FOR BETHESDA MISSION Bunkertown designated offerings will provide blankets to Bethesda Mission which has been providing Christian based hope to the disadvantaged, abused, and homeless since 1914. Bethesda is a missionary arm of churches for men, women, and children regardless of nationality, race, or ethnicity.

Heart Icon

HEARTBEAT COMMUNITY SERVICES is committed to providing support for mothers wishing to carry their baby to full term. Heartbeat was established in 1985 by Christians aware of the lack of alternatives to abbortion in the Juniata and Perry Counties. They depend solely on generous financial gifts and dedicated volunteers.
