Mission Header

The Bunkertown Church of the Brethren regularly contributes to the support of missionaries, evangelists, denominational programs, and numerous service projects. On designated Sundays of the calendar year, pledged offerings with monetary goals calculated by our average church attendance are lifted for each of the following outreach programs.

Bob & Carol Givens

BOB & CAROL GIVENS are missionaries from our community who are serving through the international network of SIM-USA. They have ministered in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and Asuncion, Paraguay. They are now state-side but still serving SIM-USA as mentors to prepare new missionaries for the rigors of the mission field: challenges such as pastoring, teaching, living on shoe-string budgets, mediating conflicts, and fleeing from bandits.

Del & Mary Benner

DELBERT & MARY ANN BENNER, a former resident of our community, is “side-walk” preaching on the streets of New York City through Open Air Evangelism, a extended ministry of Word Of Life Fellowship. Del returns to our area quite often to share imaginative Gospel Presentations and make balloon creations for children at local events.

Church World Service

CHURCH WORLD SERVICE was founded in 1946 by several Christian denominations with a mission to: Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the aged, shelter the homeless. There are two CWS programs that Bunkertown supports. Learn more about the Blanket Program and Crop Walk.

One Great Hour Of Sharing

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING is a world relief program that originally started in the Episcopal Church after World War II. Several Christian denominations came onboard to form a truly ecumenical effort. The purpose of which is: to collect special gifts to assist those in need. More than one hundred countries have benefited from this outreach.

Brethren Disaster

BRETHREN DISASTER MINISTRIES - Our denomination headquarters identifies needs worldwide due to natural diasters, and coordinates volunteer participation. A few of our members are committed to disaster response, and frequently travel to different parts of our country to assist in the rebuilding of areas that have been severely damaged.

Youth for Christ

DAVID HUMMEL, one of our own church members, is working through Youth for Christ to reach the youth of our local school districts. He works full-time in YFC and depends on regular, pledged giving from many groups, churches, and individuals.

Child Evangelism Fellowship

CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization that is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to further disciple and established them in a nearby Christian church.
